Know Thyself: 4-Part Series Part 3: Ho’oponopono and Zero Limits Living

We receive information in only two ways, through Data and through Inspiration. 

Information, which we call Data, is based on your old conditioning and programming, your stress defaults, and your established patterns that often do not serve you any longer. When you created them, you did so to survive based on the information you had at the time, and then you hung onto them until they created well-worn neural net pathways in your brain. 

Inspiration, which comes from Source, aligns you to your Purpose and guides you on your Prosperous Path. 

Much of what we think, feel, and do is a result of our conditioning and programming. Our brain is a computer, and it can only go back into our database and create new information based on what it knows. From the beginning of our life, we gave meaning to what happened to us. Much of it was in place by the time we were 7 years old. Then, we continued to live out what we said was true. 

Universal Law says, Whatever you say is, IS. 

Yet, there is another way to live, a Zero Limits way of living that Dr. Joe Vitale talks about in his book, Zero Limits. It involves a very powerful clearing and healing tool, Ho’oponopono, that I have studied for years and use daily in my life and my business to create personal and professional success. 

When we can clear the mental and emotional clutter that comes up first when we are confronted with taking action, we can change our lives immensely and profoundly. 

When you are not allowing your mind to run the show and overrun you, you are able to be open to receiving Inspiration from the Divine. When you act on this, magic happens! 

You will know you are being driven by your data when you constantly find yourself bumping up against an invisible wall when you are reaching for your goals and desires. 

Your shift in perception along with this powerful tool can help you receive and achieve more in your life and your business than you ever dreamed you could. 

You CAN expect miracles from Zero Limits Living. 

Ho’oponopono helps you to focus on yourself and what you can change rather than all the things you think are being done to you and around you. It begins with noticing what you don’t want that is showing up in your world and clearing the unknown why behind it. You always use Ho’oponopono to work on you, to clear, heal, and resolve what is showing up in your world that is not serving you. You speak to what is in you that needs this to show up in your world. You move out of being a Victim to being a Powerful Creator of your own life experience. You clear the way for all good things to come to you. 

You have subconscious memory that is driving your bus, affecting your thoughts, feelings, and actions, which greatly impacts your results. Ho’oponopono helps you to remove all kinds of negative thoughts from your mind, thoughts which hold you back from your success, and even slow you down or completely stop you in your tracks. 

Moving yourself into the Zero State, you access the creative void. Here, everything is possible, your energy is renewed, your mind is clear and able to receive Inspiration and create the life you want to live rather than be driven by old conditioning, programming, and patterning.

The basic goal of Ho’oponopono is to cleanse the mind and then heal it. The cleansing of the mind includes eliminating all the thoughts which are no longer serving you and keeping and amplifying all the thoughts that will support you in the life you want to live. The healing of the mind is achieved by clearing the mental and emotional clutter and implanting a positivity of mind which moves you forward to achieve everything you want to. 

In doing this, you begin to peel away the layers and access the True You. 

Learning to use Ho’oponopono begins with learning and using the 4 phrases as a Prayer or Mantra. 

I Love You. – I’m Sorry. – Please Forgive Me. – Thank You. 

Remember, the focus is always on you. You are speaking to what is inside of you that needs these things and people and situations to show up, how you are reacting from your Data rather than being able to respond to Inspiration, which moves you forward. This is not for or about anyone else, or directed at someone else or something else. This is between you and the Divine.

Know Thyself: Four Part Series – Human Design

Human Design: You are designed and wired to be this, do this, and have this.

You are here to grow and evolve, and you intended many things for yourself before you arrived. You included in this design what would be for your growth and evolution and for your highest and best. Infinite Potential already exists within you, and it is up to you to discover and act upon it. 

At some time in your life, you begin to recognize some interests, nudges, inspirations, desires, and callings. These are your way of pulling you back to You. You left breadcrumbs along the way for yourself to discover. 

In this lifetime, you have both a Body and a Soul. Your Body is here to support your Soul, and it has its own trajectory for this lifetime, as well. 

You have a Life Purpose and a Soul Purpose. Your Life Purpose in this lifetime supports your Soul Purpose. Your Soul Purpose is the purpose of your Soul throughout lifetimes. Your Life Purpose is how your body was created as the vehicle you came here in to support your Soul Purpose this time. 

When you are aligned with both your Body and your Soul working together, you create the most synchronicity and are able to live your best life, the life you came here to live in your Highest Purpose possible. 

At different times in your life, you will be expressing your Purpose in different ways. At key points in your life, you are presented with the opportunity to step into your next level of Higher Purpose Living. This creates more success and prosperity in your life and gives you a sense of deep satisfaction. Your life works better. Others are blessed by you being you, and you are blessed immensely in the process. 

When you take the time to Know Yourself, you start paying attention to how you are living your life. You are led toward doing what you do best with people and in environments you care about and are passionate about that support you. You begin to live according to the way you are designed and wired. 

When you are living and working aligned to the way you are designed and wired, you have less struggle and challenge. Life becomes a series of synchronicities, and you are in the flow. You have more abundance, your needs are met, you find success and experience peace. 

Your Design is unique to you, and your Soul desires and requires it. Conditioning and programming are what are keeping you from living as you intended. From the moment you get here, you are greatly impacted by the people and environments you come in contact with. You begin to receive overlays that are not you, and you believe they are you as you grow. This conditioning and programming masquerades as Self, but are actually Not Self. Not Self is your conditioned behaviors, and they can stand in the way of your True Potential. This includes everywhere you are open to being influenced by the energy of others. Conditioning hijacks you and influences you. 

The bottom line is, all the challenges and struggles you encounter, all the blocks you bump up against, are always there for your good, to move you back into alignment with your design and your nature. Their job is to rebalance you, to right your course and get you back on track. 

With conscious awareness, you can overcome these influences and use your design to access your greatest strengths. 

You are being called to true Mastery, and you are already designed and wired for it! 

Knowing and honoring how you are wired and designed will change everything. 

It comes down to this, You designed this Body to come into this lifetime with a Purpose of its own that also supports your Soul Purpose. Your Body is wired and designed to accomplish what you intended. You will feel and experience your way to it simply by living your life. You can become conscious and aware, Know Yourself, and then you won’t have to just learn by trial and error. 

Human Design is a powerful tool to help you navigate this life you are living. It can serve as a touchstone, a guidepost, and reference points for you. As you work with it, you can create both immediate and ongoing results. Human Design shows you how you are uniquely designed and wired, which includes your biogenetic inheritance and your unconscious programming.

Spiritual Side Of Weight Loss: Total Thought Remodel

In article one of this series we realized that our thoughts can manifest into bodily issues.  In article two we realized that when we decide to make change in our physical self it’s not because we aren’t already perfect, it’s because human consciousness loves to create. So now that we know all of this, how do we make mental change in order to achieve happy physical change?  Well, the key is to find someone who can help you get to the roots of those original thought hurdles and help you learn to think differently.

Is it really that simple? Yes it is. I can honestly say that sometimes thought processes just need a little tweaking in order to achieve a complete understanding of who you are, where you are stuck, and why.  Have you dieted, exercised and cut carbs to the point of massive frustration?  Have you mentally grappled with doing what you know is best for your body yet still end up feeling as if you are being punished?  If you struggle with issues like these, then you need help really digging into those energy root issues and implementing a total thought remodel.   

Bottom line here is that you need to change the way you think even before starting a healthy weight loss program. Simply convincing ourselves that this is all for our own good is not enough. If you are miserable with your eating plan and with each bite try to convince yourself it’s “all for your own good” you will continue to struggle. But if you can get to the roots of your relationship with food and exercise, you can find effective ways to view the process which will make life a whole lot easier.  

Sounds too good to be true? I assure you it’s not. Think about it this way, the more you negatively talk about something the more you feel and focus on that negative situation. Trash talk a job you dislike and it will make the experience even more intolerable, right?  But find the good in the job, find the roots of your frustration, change your routine (and thoughts) to alleviate that frustration and all of a sudden the job seems much easier.  Same holds true for weight loss. Keep telling yourself it’s hard, it’s miserable, it’s depriving, it’s slow going, then it will be. Keep telling yourself you hate exercise and you’ll grow to hate every step, every drop of sweat, every weight lifted.  But pull apart those negative ideas and morph them into positive ones and the going will inherently become much easier.  But the key here is that the thoughts have to be true and heartfelt, not just mantras to help you power through something you feel is miserable.

Spiritual Side of Weight Loss: Loving Yourself the Way You Are Isn’t Always the Answer

The title of this article is a little misleading, so bear with me and read on. Of course, you should always love yourself just the way you are because after all, you are perfect. But when it comes to our desire to make change in our lives (particularly weight loss) it’s important to know that there’s more to the situation than self-acceptance. Let me explain…..

As I said, loving ourselves just the way we are is important. Actually, it’s everything, but when we decide to make change for our health, or for any other reason, we need to change the way we think. If we say we love ourselves just the way we are but want to make a change, we intuitively feel the opposition of those two statements. How can you love yourself just the way you are but still feel the need to ‘improve’? Those are positive and negative thoughts and they tend to cancel each other out and we get nowhere. So, what’s a gal to do if she’s got this dichotomy going on in her head? 

The answer is you need to change the way you think about change.  You aren’t necessarily trying to change your weight because you feel it’s wrong or unhealthy. You aren’t desiring change because you aren’t already good enough. You desire change because there’s an infinite amount of creation that’s possible with that mind of yours and a new goal is simply your desire to create something new. Not because the old thing was bad, worn out or wrong, but because the nature of the human consciousness is to create, grow, change.  I’m not making change because I’m wrong or broken, I’m always enough. I’m perfect today, but I also know I have infinite capacity to be a different kind of perfect tomorrow.

We don’t reach for new goals, search for spiritual growth, or make changes because we think we need to be better, we make change because we can, because our consciousness needs to create and we intuitively know that its creative capacity is unlimited. Why do you think everyone always wants more? Why do you think people reach for higher and higher goals? It’s not necessarily because they don’t have enough, it’s because we know that there’s more out there, always more to be created. At our soul core, we are all artists, constantly creating.

The Spiritual Side of Weight Loss: Yes, Thoughts Affect Weight Loss

It has been theorized that we have over 180,000 thoughts per day. That’s a lot of thinkin’. Some of those thoughts are fleeting, in one lobe and out the other. But what happens to those thoughts that we just can’t let go of? What happens to those ideas that we dwell and stew on?  Our thoughts and ideas, both good and bad, can’t stay cooped up in that brain forever. What happens to the ideas that we just can’t let go of our refuse to address?

Well, there’s an old saying that goes, “We hold our issues in our tissues” and spiritually speaking, it’s totally true.  Thoughts are energy and energy tends to be the most useful and productive when it’s allowed to flow freely. As a matter of fact, it’s the nature of energy to want to move, ebb and flow. So when we keep our thoughts cooped up within us they tend to force their way out one way or another. And more often than not they’ll force their way out in  the form of physical or emotional issues.

We, as spiritual mentors, can take a look at the thought-energy root of a physical/emotional problem and address it from that perspective, the perspective of stagnant energy. Now, that doesn’t mean ‘miracle cure’ but it can mean enlightenment as to the root of the issue which can lead a person to more productive physical healing modalities or productive changes in personal thought-behavior.

Now springtime tends to be when people focus on developing their ‘beach bodies’. First of all, let me say, that you are perfect just the way you are, but if you are looking to make some changes in your weight (either gain or lose) it’s imperative that you begin with changing the way you think.

Most people who have struggled with weight are well familiar with basic do’s and don’ts, but almost everyone who has tried and failed to achieve a more healthy weight has failed to realize that what we think and how we think it affects our body’s ability to lose weight AND our own behavior.

The first step for anyone who has tried to change their weight and failed is not changing nutrition or exercise programs, it’s changing your thoughts. Find a helper who can dig deeply into your history of thought and behaviors. Find a helper who can see beyond standard do’s and don’ts and peer directly into the spiritual soul of why these thoughts have kept you from reaching your goal. It’s not as hard as it seems and when that lightbulb flips on, you’ll see your energy change and your efforts will finally begin to yield results.

Thoughts have power, power to change the body, in good ways and bad ways. So, why spend another day letting old, stagnant, useless, thoughts keep you from your personal health goals?

This. Is. Hard….

I know. I’m right there with you. These are uncertain times. With the outbreak of the coronavirus and closures everywhere you turn, so many of us are afraid, and not knowing what’s going to happen next. Let me just say it’s normal to have a variety of emotions. The most important thing that we can do during these times is to be gentle with ourselves. If you find yourself one moment crying and one moment feeling completely confused and lost, just realize that you are not alone. 

I know, for so many people, there have been extraordinary losses. For school kids, it’s the loss of classes and time with their friends. For many of us, it’s loss of work and the uncertainty and fear with loss of income. For many people, and especially the elderly, it’s simply the loss of human contact. Just not being able to gather in groups or get a hug is absolutely a huge loss. So if you’re feeling sad or depressed know, it’s completely normal. But what I want to add is something that I hope can change your perspective.

Now please understand I am not being Pollyanna about any of this. But there is something to be said for choosing your emotional state. It’s so easy to look at the glass half empty. And I know right now there is a ton of emptiness to go around. However, the fact that we all woke up this morning certainly has to be a blessing. There will be people reading this that say it’s not. And again, I can totally understand that. But it’s important during these times, as we build up our fortitude and strength of character, to notice what IS going well in our lives. And I’m not saying that everything is butterflies and rainbows right now because it’s definitely not. I myself have moments of time where I wonder how this will all turn out. But to help you hold on, here are a few things to keep in mind that I hope can help guide you through this crisis.

First, just take note of the little things. If you can take a walk outside or even sit outside and look up at the blue sky, that is certainly something nice. Think about the fact that you can open your eyes and look around and notice all the colors and beauty that there still is in this world. Hey, your eyes work!!  OK I can hear some of you saying “that’s so cheesy, Mari” but honestly, think about it. If all of your faculties are working, your body is processing things in the way it is supposed to for the most part, you are blessed. As long as you have food on your plate, shelter and can walk around (even in your own home), that counts for something. And it’s during these stressful times that we have the opportunity to shift our perspective and focus on the good things that we still have.

Secondly, think of people that have less than you even before Covid-19. How are they faring? If you’re upset that you didn’t get to make that great trip to Vegas think of people that have never been there in the first place. Yes that might seem hard to grasp, but it’s reality. No matter how little you have, more than likely, there’s somebody that has less. And focusing on all the things that go right for us on a daily basis helps to alter our attitude into one of Gratitude instead of one of Lack. 

And lastly, may I make a plea to look out for those people that might need some extra support. Perhaps you have an elderly friend or neighbor that could use a phone call just to say hi. People might be socially isolating but being socially isolated can certainly cause depression or worse. Make a mental note of anybody in your circle who could use a pick me up. Even if you send a them a card or drop off some packaged cookies, every little bit of kindness counts. And part of me feels that maybe some of the reason we are all going through this now is to remind ourselves that we need each other. No one is an island and in order to be happy and whole we need people. Just think about that for a minute.

But by no means am I saying all this is easy. Like I mentioned, it is a struggle. Daily. But just like if you were trying to get in shape, there would be struggles. Nobody jumps up every single day raring to go to the gym. Everybody has those moments where they’re like “Oh I really don’t wanna do this today, I’m not feeling it.” And it’s in those moments when you are building character and grit. But just because you intellectually know you should be grateful and focused on the good doesn’t make it easy. However, hopefully reading something like this might remind you when you’re having one of those moments (and trust me I have them all the time) to go back to the breath, focus on your heart space and give off a tiny thought of gratitude that you are still here.

This also doesn’t mean we stop mourning the things that we have lost. I know many people have had to cancel big events, weddings, family trips, tournaments etc. and have no clue how to soldier on. It’s just for whatever reason right now, it’s not the right time. As I like to tell my clients that when we look at life it’s as if we are looking at the back of a needlepoint. If you’ve never seen the back of a needlepoint project, it’s a mess. There’s strings going everywhere, there’s knots, colors that end abruptly – there is no clear vision at all. But that is how we view life- only from the back. It’s when we get some perspective and we can see the needlepoint from *the front* that we understand the bigger picture.

So know that you are not alone. These are trying times for the strongest of us. But if you take a few moments to add a little gratitude practice to your life you will visibly see how your energy will change. It’s not all doom and gloom. And we will get through this, make no mistake. But in the meantime, look up at the sky and count your blessings. I’ll be doing the same. Much love,Mari

Spiritual Hygiene to Deal with the Coronavirus

Our world is certainly turned topsy-turvy at the moment. There is definitely an issue with the coronavirus, and I understand that people’s nerves & psyches are frayed. However, I wanted to pass along some tips that will help with your spiritual hygiene and to stay emotionally centered during this difficult time.

Now I certainly understand that many people are at risk and many others are directly affected by the coronavirus. However, for most people in the world, the chance of getting something is fairly low. My concern as a Psychic Medium is it not the coronavirus but the virus of *fear* that is spreading like wildfire throughout the world. Sometimes this psychological virus is even worse than the actual germs themselves. So, I wanted to offer these few things to keep yourself emotionally safe and sound. 

  1. Please don’t listen to the media 24 hours a day. Find some time, whether it’s on your car ride in the morning or at night before you go to bed, to just have some quiet time. Read a fun book, cook something nutritious or just meditate and sit in the silence. This news fast allows your mind, and especially your heart, to have a breather. Listening to CNN or other stations saying the sky is falling over and over again just amps up our anxiety. And while it’s certainly important to be vigilant, wash hands and not hang around with people who appear sick, it is also equally important to not live in a fear-based mindset all the time. Living in this fear-based mindset causes stress, stress causes inflammation and inflammation can lead to disease. Now of course I’m not a doctor, but allowing yourself to be in this place of fear makes it so much more difficult for your body to fight off any germs or viruses should you encounter them. Please allow yourself to take some time away from the media and just be.
  2. Get yourself out in nature! Even if you just sit outside on your stoop or take a little stroll it’s so, so important to be out in the fresh air. Look up at the sky, the trees or anything natural. Allow yourself to take the deep cleansing breath and just be in the moment. Like your grandmother might’ve said “the fresh air will do you good” and this is still true!! Just being in nature allows us to reconnect to our soul selves. All the anxiety producing facts that we get from the media stirs up our ego self and puts us in that constant cycle of worry. Don’t become a victim to social media. Get outside with your kids, your dog or even by yourself. Take a walk to the corner instead of using your car. Don’t say I’ll do it later. Do it now. Your soul needs this.
  3. Especially before bed, you want to make sure you turn off your phone, tablet, computer etc. I know it’s so tempting for us to lie in bed all snuggly and warm and be scrolling social media on our phone. Sometimes I am guilty as charged as well. However, during these uncertain times, getting proper sleep is incredibly important. Light from the TV or other electronics makes it difficult for you to fall asleep quickly. Anybody who suffers from insomnia probably already knows this. So be sure to allow yourself some quiet time (at least an hour) before bed without any of the electronic light. Make yourself a cup of tea, warm milk or whatever will help get you in the relaxed mood. Sleeping also helps your immune system be stronger to fight off anything that may come your way.
  4. Now this one might not be everybody’s thing but honestly, it’s so important. To meditate. Now that doesn’t mean you have to sit cross-legged and ohm like a monk (but you can if you like!).  Meditation could be quietly walking outside while turning your intention inward. A meditation can be done while washing the dishes. Pay close attention to the dishes – focus on what you’re doing each second and breathe deeply and slowly. Meditation is simply slowing down your mind and being in the present moment. This allows your mind to not focus on the “what if’s” and all the worries we deal with daily. If you are comfortable in this meditative state I encourage you to invite in your spirit guides, angels, ascended masters or anyone you would like to work with. Ask them to help you through this difficult time with grace, ease and gratitude.
  5. And finally, I encourage everyone when they get up in the morning to make a statement that goes something like “I am Safe. I am Whole. I am Healthy.” This can be your mantra throughout the day that you can repeat anytime you feel like you are getting caught up in the news, social media or other fears and worries. Feel free to touch your index finger to your thumb as you do this. This grounds the thought into the physical and keeps it as a reminder for yourself throughout the day. You can also add your gratitude prayers at this time as well. Reminding ourselves that no matter how bleak things may look, there are always things to be thankful for.
  6. You may also, at the same time, surround yourself with a golden ball of light that encompasses you & your entire home. Thus, setting the intention that this golden ball of light keeps you safe, grounded and in your body. It is essential to stay in your physical body and not in your head when all this fear and negative energy is swirling around the planet.
  7. My final tip is – Every time you find yourself getting in your head and starting to worry, set the intention that this golden ball of light keeps you safe, grounded and in your body. Every time you find yourself getting in your head and starting to freak out do this: Take a deep breath and allow the breath to rise to the top of your head and roll down your back. As the breath rolls down your back, find yourself sinking deeper and deeper into your body. As you exhale, exhale out all the tension & stress and allow yourself to remain in your body, feeling yourself centered & calm in your heart area. This is a good exercise to bring you back to self every time you start to worry.

I hope these tips provide you with some comfort and some tools to get through this current health crisis we find ourselves in. Just know that despite how bleak things may look sometimes, this too shall *actually* pass and things will be back to the way they were.

When Your Pet Dies….????

How do you manage when your pet dies? Even as a Medium and Animal Communicator, this subject is extremely difficult. Despite the fact I can still connect with animals after they pass, not having your beloved furry friend in the physical is extremely painful and full of sorrow.

Unfortunately, there isn’t an easy answer for this. No matter who you are on this earth, we are all human. And as humans, we will suffer. But knowing that our beloved pets are still around us even after they pass I hope will bring comfort to some of you that may be going through this situation currently. 

Our pets and animals, in general, are here on this earth because they are pure love. They are here to help us find our way through many of our human foibles. There are times that they are our mirrors. For example, if we are feeling anxious our animals will react anxiously to try to show us what we are doing and what needs to change in our own behavior. The reason many of us love animals more than people is because animals are just honest – no facade, no airs to put on and without the falsity that some human relationships come with. 

Of course, all humans at some time in their lives, are full of ego, spite, bitterness or many other negative human emotions. But animals don’t really suffer from these issues. Without a doubt, sometimes our animals can be snarky or play tricks on us but ultimately they are just here to love us and show us the path of true love and forgiveness. That’s why so many of us are drawn to animals. Animals truly touch the deepest part of our soul; the part of our soul that also touches the Divine. It reminds us that we too are sparks of light in the universe and that with some effort we can rise above the small-minded behaviors and begin to operate on a higher level. 

That is why, I believe, the grief when we lose an animal is so severe. It is because in some way we are losing touch with the greatest, most evolved and purest part of our soul self. And losing this connection to the great Universal Love pains us on such a deep level that many times this pain is so much greater than we can bear. Certainly greater to some than losing a human person because in a myriad of ways our connection to animals is so much deeper. 

Unfortunately, there isn’t a magic answer to moving through this grief. Just like losing anything or anyone that is important and special to us, there is sorrow. But it is important to remember that our animal friends are always around us. That is not a trite statement; animals are so much more intuitive and connected than humans that when they leave this earth, they always find a way to come back energetically to the humans that they love. They know that while they might not be in the physical body any longer, in spirit they still have some work to do.

If you have lost your beautiful beloved fur baby, take a little comfort in knowing that he or she has never really left your side. While they are certainly not with us 24 hours a day they do come and visit very regularly. There are many signs that animals (or people) can leave once they have passed. Be on the lookout for anything that triggers your intuition. It could be the shape of a heart on the ground, feathers found in a strange place, animals that come a little closer than they might normally or even the familiar smell of your beloved fur baby mysteriously hanging in the air. Yes, it’s certainly easy for your logical brain to talk yourself out of this. “No -that’s just my imagination” you may say, or “that doesn’t mean anything”, but I suppose you could talk yourself out of anything right? Just know that when you do see these signs and your Spidey Senses are triggered, allow yourself to accept that they are true and real and valid. 

While having these signs and visitations from our pets might not take away all the pain of missing them in their physical bodies, please accept these signs as gifts of love and salve for your suffering soul. Sending blessings and warm furry snuggles to you all. xoxo

Week 4: Love on Hand – A Month of Love Tailored to YOU

Step Three is ‘Feeling With‘.  This last step requires ‘radical compassion’ as Tara Brach defines it. Have you ever seen a wounded animal turn on the very people trying to help it? That is what we can become in our darkest traumatized Earth Heart. And it’s in everyone, a little, or a lot. But the Universe is abundant and wants you to know this when you are wounded. Because if we don’t understand, we bite the hand that feeds us.

This step retrains your brain to let in the things that are right for you. You get to decide what you say yes to and when you open up. That’s a very important thing to remember. Opening up to outside help doesn’t mean you lose your power to decide what feels right for you. That happened in childhood but it’s not true now.

Instead, when you ‘Feel With’ you to take quality time to realize you are hurt.  Anger, fear, almost all the difficult emotions, arise out of pain avoidance.  Until you sit with the wound yourself, you won’t know who and what to trust to help you. Rather, you isolate yourself or drive off the very balm your wound needs.

That’s why Earth Heart’s nickname is the Hermit. You pull back to avoid pain. Once you get these three steps, you will be able to handle the pain in life that goes with getting more love. To love is to risk pain. But to go without love is a deeper more damaging pain by far. Time to trade in suffering alone to safely shared love and manageable pain.

Feeling With requires physical action on your part. Put your left hand on your heart and your right hand on your belly even as you do the first two steps outlined in recent posts. If you don’t have your hands there by Step 3, time to put them there. Don’t get caught up in getting it right. The important thing is to be the adult present and ‘Feeling With’ the child within you.

With your hands on your heart and belly, feel those feelings that come up. Breathe into them. Ask yourself what those feelings need to hear. Reassure yourself that you won’t ever abandon you. Tell yourself that what you feel matters and you want to know. Be curious, listen deeply, hold yourself and stay present for your emotions. If your mind switches back to a story about what caused these feelings, bring them back to what you feel. It’s a sneaky form of self-abandonment to focus on ‘them’.

You are what matters. What you need to hear, what you feel, what needs to be heard and said by YOU. Hear yourself say out loud, “I’m with you, I’ll never leave you”. Listening to your own needs and feeling them heals you. Take time to show up for all of you, just as if you are sitting with that frightened four-year-old you once were.

The Neuroscience Of It All

The crazy part is when you do these three simple steps outlined, you rewire your brain. Your hands reflect this over time. Soothing yourself with your own attention, deep interest and compassion for what hurts, without acting on it yet activates dopamine. You get waves of it running through your body to feel better and counteract the triggers that set you down a reaction spiral.

The key is to offer the wounded child in you support as the strong adult you are now. You learn feelings won’t drown or overwhelm you when you feel what comes up and ask yourself, as often as you need, ‘what does this feeling need to hear from me’. Then say it to yourself. You may need to act on it by rocking or a hot bath. Stay in soothing mode, not protection mode. Self-care like this IS the best protection.

Remember we all drop back to our Earth Heart in trauma. Understand you’ve been taught what you should and shouldn’t express. When you lovingly sit with those places and spaces, without an agenda or time clock, healing happens. Know that you may want to do this the rest of your life. Why not? It’s free, legal and portable. You can do it anywhere. 

When the results are more love who loses by practicing this? Certainly not you. For this month of love, give yourself the most precious gift of all, quality loving time with you. As if by magic, or should I say magnet, others will join the flow.

WK 3: Love on Hand – A Month of Love Tailored to YOU

Your Heart Line is the top line on your hand for a reason. It reveals how big the electromagnetic field is around you. We all have it, some just magnetize in more than others. You see the heart has 100 times the electric charge of our brain and 5,000 times the magnetic power. The bigger your heart line, the more magnetic you are. Let’s explore how you can start with heart to dial up your magnetism, just by being more You for the month of Love! We are on Step 2 of the three step action plan in place to dial up your magnetic factor for more abundant options to play with in manifesting. Fear prefers a limited and familiar path, which is why we slowly add a few key things to ease into space in a less frightening way. Check the last two weeks here if you missed them.

Step Two is ‘Listening to More Than Words’. This builds on last week’s Step One – being deeply interested in what you are feeling rather than just your thoughts is a potent shift. Often times, my Earth Hearts are so powerful they trigger those around them and, in fear, others try to block or limit the Earth Heart. When you listen to more than words, first for yourself, then for others, you get rich layers of information that is clay in your hands to shape a better outcome. It’s also a way to signal to the frightened, four year old, fear brain that your feelings matter to you. Give yourself attention and then really listen to what you feel before you rush to action, it does change your life. The very act of giving yourself quality attention soothes the fear brain and allows for facts that didn’t support your first reaction to pop into view. This is important, hear it all without judging yourself. Judgement is just another trick of the fear brain to get you back into reaction mode instead of creation. Know when it happens you are in pain. Go to the pain source, don’t stay stuck in judgement.

Each time you listen with deep interest, you teach yourself that your feelings matter, that your heart and your body are heard. Be curious, listen to understand all those feelings. Give them the light of day without a lot of “shoulds” on them. Make room for all of them to come out of the basement where they’ve festered for years unattended. Whew, does it feel better to add in a range of emotions like colors in the crayola box? Of course it can be shocking or unnerving to find out how much you feel. It lessens as those locked spaces are freed. That means you are more present for others, without that stored pain between you. But that’s where the next step comes into play next week.

For now, breathe slowly and deeply as you listen first to all your heart, body and Spirit want to add to your minds chatter. The mind would love to take up 90% of the space, but work on a more level playing field. Give them each time for feedback. You can even mentally dress up your heart, body, mind and Spirit and let them each have equal time. If you are anything like me, the Mind has a habit of interrupting the others. With practice it gets more civil and patient. Next week will wrap up with the third step and the neuroscience behind what we are doing.
