Have you ever experienced something that made you stop in your tracks? A moment so oddly timed that it felt like the universe was speaking directly to you?
Maybe you’ve been thinking about an old friend, and suddenly they call. Or you keep seeing the same repeating number everywhere. Or perhaps, like me, you hit roadblock after roadblock in something you were convinced was the “right” decision—only to realize much later that those obstacles were actually guiding you to something better.
When Life Says “No,” It Might Mean “Look Again”
Not long ago, I was trying to secure a home improvement loan. I was sure it was the right move—logically, it made sense. But after researching, applying, and trying every avenue, the answer was still no.
I thought I understood why it wasn’t working out, but something in me wondered: Was this more than just bad timing? Was I being guided in another direction?
Looking back now, I can see that not getting the loan led me to a completely different path—one that turned out to be far better than what I had originally planned.
Was the loan rejection a sign? I believe it was. Even though I couldn’t see it at the time, life was nudging me toward something I hadn’t yet imagined.
Where Do Signs Come From?
We often think of signs and synchronicities as coincidences, but what if they’re not?
Some signs feel external—like messages from nature, chance encounters, or perfectly timed events. Others arise within us, like strong gut feelings or sudden flashes of clarity. These moments feel different from our usual thoughts. They have a weight, a presence, as if they are
“new” information being given to us rather than something we thought up ourselves.
So if these signs aren’t coming from our own minds, where do they come from?
The Web of Connection
You’ve probably heard the phrase, we are all connected. But what does that actually mean?
Think of the internet. A vast, invisible network, connecting people across the globe. Now, imagine something even more expansive—a web of energy, connecting all beings, all thoughts, all possibilities. This is what I call the One Mind or the Akashic Field. It is the mind of the Creator, the Source of all that is.
Thoughts are energy, and energy moves. Just like entering a search into a web browser, our thoughts send out signals into this vast field. Some thoughts are mundane—what you had for breakfast. Others hold deep significance—insights that guide you toward your highest path.
Signs as Invitations to Expand
Signs, synchronicities, and nudges are ways the universe invites you to go larger in your life. They push you beyond your current thought patterns, beyond your comfort zone, toward something more aligned with your Soul’s path.
Your Soul and the Divine are always communicating with you. You also have a team—guides, guardians, and loved ones in spirit—who support your journey. They aren’t pushing you to be someone you’re not; they’re reminding you of who you already are.
Of course, not every influence in your life has your best interests at heart. Some obstacles are just part of being human. Some resistance comes from within—old fears, doubts, and conditioning. But for now, let’s focus on the loving force that does want the best for you. The one that whispers, nudges, and, sometimes, outright blocks the wrong path so you can find the right one.
Why Does This Matter?
Maybe you feel content with where you are. And that’s okay.
But life is temporary. As Bugs Bunny wisely said, “None of us is getting out of here alive.”
We’re here to explore, learn, grow, and experience. The signs you receive aren’t about forcing change on you; they’re about helping you enjoy your life, uncover your dreams, and actually live them.
Which brings me back to my home improvement loan.
I thought I needed that loan to make my home “better.” But my Soul knew better. It knew I was meant for something more. The “no” I received was actually a redirection toward something that truly fulfilled me.
So the next time life puts up a roadblock, ask yourself: Is this just an obstacle? Or is it a sign?
And if it is a sign, where might it be leading you?
